Today’s debate discussed positive measures to create jobs, support livelihoods and improve wellbeing in the south Wales valleys.
The Circuit of Wales has raised an unprecedented £425m of private investment and is ready to start building in Blaenau Gwent immediately.
It will provide large numbers of construction jobs from day one and then pave the way to thousands of other jobs across the valleys, ranging from high end engineering to retail, leisure, security, hospitality and tourism.
It will offer enthusiastic support for the South Wales Valleys Region Task Force target of creating 10,000 jobs and adopt a socially responsible employment strategy focused on building skills through training programmes.
The Circuit of Wales will inject £50m into the Welsh economy through the most significant private investment programme in the region for 50 years and generate approximate revenue of £131million over the next 33 years for the Welsh Government.
